I suppose I am not the only one who noticed a big fashion anniversary is going on this year.
The fashion world is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the first Chanel boutique opened in summer 1913 in Deauville and Chanel’s creative director, Karl Lagerfeld marks his 30th anniversary at Chanel.
Under King Karl reign, Chanel has purchased many of the embroidery, shoemaking, millinery, and jewelry workshops on which haute couture traditionally depends saving these carriage-trade crafts from certain extinction.
Responsible for this was actually Karl’s biggest fan Bruno Pavlovsky, Chanel- Chef.
Two other very important people working on Karl’s side are Virginie Viard, Chanel – Chefdirektrice and Lady Amanda Harlech, a Muse, second pair of eyes, which she prefers to be called.

I am sort of silent fan of Chanel, reading books about her, seen all the movies about her like very well known Coco before Chanel (2009) with Audrey Tautou or my favorite movie about Gabrielle Chanel; Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky (2009). I love this movie also because of the outstanding interiors shown in there. There are other two films about Chanel; Coco Chanel (2008) with Shirley Maclaine and one older film; Chanel Solitaire (1981) with Timothy Dalton as Boy Capel.
As a silent fan I am also dreaming about to posses one day an authentic Chanel Jacket, but it does not seems to happen as I am not ready-made size. I have tried few Chanel jackets already, but they are made more or less for flat busted women, which is not my case and Chanel jacket made to measure is out of my reach.
Until then I am thinking about to make my own made to measure jacket from original Chanel fabric. I have collected already some of them. We will see what’s happen?
